Unconventional Journaling....what the heck does that mean? I consider Unconventional Journaling something that goes beyond the traditional box. This time I'm going to show you a layout I did and why I think going outside the box is a good thing. Here is my layout:
Some scrapbooking traditionalists would never think of journaling right on top of the photo, but eh, why not:)? I used to do paper scrapping and I used to LOVE and COVET my white ink pen. First, it's just cool and second, it was different. Here I used CK Funky font in white. All I did is type my journaling on my photo and around my subject i.e. my dear son and muse plus our kitty. My journaling acts almost like a frame and hones in on my subject. My CK Funky font makes this layout well.....funky. I could use a Garamond font and suddenly it is more traditional. Use a color that compliments your layout if you want. It is all up to you.
I have another tip for this type of journaling. If you notice my photo and really look the background looks a little fuzzy. This Photoshop technique is so easy to use. Duplicate your photo onto a new file. Then go to Filter > Blur > Lens Blur. It give the whole photo a soft fuzzy feel, but your subject is also fuzzy. Take your filtered photo and drag it onto your original photo. Then simply take an eraser brush (I like a soft brush like soft mechanical) and simply erase the fuzzy subject in my case my son and cat. Your background will be fuzzy and your subject is clear. Easy peasy
Go ahead. Try it out. You know you want to.
p.s. easy Photoshop tip
On my Mac (not sure about a pc) if you hit click and shift when putting an element or paper onto your new file it will automatically be centered. Eh...not bad huh? LOL I love this one when transferring papers.
