Hello again. I'm back.
Have you ever looked at your child, parent, sibling, cousin and said, "Joey sure had Uncle Mel's feet," or "Sandy can do mom's tongue curling trick, " or "Thank goodness my kids got their fathers height!" We all at one point or another have noticed these family traits. It could be a physical trait or something one might pick up from a family member. My son moves his tongue around when he is concentrating. NO ONE in my family does this or has done this since his deceased great grandfather. Weird, but true! It's part of what makes us who we are. Sometimes it's freaky. Sometimes it's mundane. The trick is to one, capture that trait on film if you can. We all know you can't capture someone's great singing, but you can catch them curling their tongue :). Two, journal about that trait. Yes, we remember it now, but will your great grandkids remember it? Probably not. Some of the most fun I have in journaling are the obscure bits. So sit down scrap and journal what may not seem like a "normal" journaling layout. You'll be surprised how fun and/or interesting it will be.
Here's a layout of my sons "Twisty Toes". I cannot do this to save my life, but ex-husband can. It's one of those goofy traits that somehow get passed down by our crazy DNA.
